BHBC Prayer Ministry
The vision of the BHBC Prayer Leadership Team is that everyone in our church will know through experience and practice that everything they seek to accomplish in their personal growth and in their work for the Lord must first begin with prayer - that each person will seek personal cleansing, repentance, and supernatural praying. We want our church family to view ourselves first as people who pray and then as people participating in organized prayer through the prayer ministry.
The goal for our church is that we will be a "...house of prayer...", Isaiah 56:7. So everyone is encouraged to be part of the BHBC Prayer Force (now 785 strong) in addition to other areas of service. Opportunities for service include:

Emergency Phone Chain
Serve with 138 other intercessors to quickly mobilize prayer for life and death situations. There are 2 chains -
- 24/7 Chain - Called any day, anytime to pray
- Day Chain - Will be called only between 8 am - 9 pm to pray.

The Encouragers Ministry
Write notes of encouragement to those who have shared their prayer needs with the prayer ministry.

God's 100
Groups of 2 or 3 partner for prayer 10 or more minutes weekly, by phone or in person anytime, anywhere.
12 people are now meeting in 5 small groups.

Moms in Touch
International organization of moms who meet weekly to pray an hour for their children, their schools, and the school staff. Very active in this area.

Power Source
Kingdom Praying in Power Source Room 220 during the morning worship services for the services, the pastor and staff, the unsaved, Christian growth of our members, for our community and country. 17 people serve on a rotating basis.

Prayer Room
The "heart" of our prayer ministry where 25 intercessors spend one scheduled hour weekly/monthly lifting up the confidential and non-confidential requests.

Prayer Warriors
Serve with 292 other BHBC intercessors who pray approximately one hour weekly for all non-confidential prayer requests brought to the attention of the church. Pray anytime and anywhere - not scheduled.

Prayer Ministry Support
This team of twelve serves in various administrative functions, including but not limited to: calling to get updated information, updating the requests, sending notes of encouragement, thanking people for sharing requests with us, computer input and sending out mailings by U.S. mail and by email.

Preschool Worship
Four Prayer Leaders guide the children in prayer during their group worship with focus on the lesson for the day and building a foundation for prayer.

The "Remnant"
Open for all to join in Kingdom Praying for our BHBC family, church, community, nation and world. Currently meets at 7:30 pm Wednesday evenings. |

Special Events
Enjoy serving with 45 other creative people to organize and implement special prayer events such as Prayer Walks, National Day of Prayer, Global Day of Prayer, Garden of Prayer, Prayer Vigils, the Family Prayer Weekend and Prayer Conferences. |

Upward Prayer
Serve with 106 intercessors to pray for students and their families, coaches, and leaders in Upward Basketball and Upward Cheerleading. They pray for 100 days beginning with the first practice and going through the awards banquet.

Staff Shield
Join 87 other intercessors lifting up by name specific staff members and their families each day. Choose the staff member/members you want to pray for.

Prayer and the Prayer Ministry of Burnt Hickory is led by God, directed by our
pastor and implemented by our staff, the BHBC Prayer Team members, the
Church Prayer Coordinator, and every person in our church.
