We here at Burnt Hickory Baptist Church recognize that God would have us sing His praises at every opportunity. Therefore, we offer many musical groups for our members to be a part of. There is a place in the Music Ministry for everyone, beginning with our congregational singing. We believe that God uses our song service to allow us to lift our praises to Him, offer testimony to our fellow believers, and to be encouraged and comforted by the message contained in the songs we sing together.

Worship Choir
Adult members of this choir desire to commit themselves to lead in worship through music on a weekly basis. We desire to be worship leaders and messengers to God's people through music and visual testimony of what God is doing in our lives and in the life of our church. Our rehearsals, which take place on Wednesday nights at 7:30 pm, are a blend of practice, praise, worship and fellowship. Members of the Worship Choir sing in the 9:30 and/or 11:00 services each Sunday. Membership in the Worship Choir is open to anyone who loves Jesus and loves to sing. |

Praise Team
This dynamic group leads in our praise services on a rotating basis. The Praise Team is an extension of the Worship Choir and is open to all regular Worship Choir members. This group rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 in the Choir Room.

Praise Band
There are currently two Praise Bands - one for the main worship service and the other for The Gathering, our simulcast service. The Praise Band is comprised of musicians playing guitar, bass, keyboard and drums. This group accompanies the congregational singing in our 9:30 am and 11:00 am worship services. The main worship service Praise Band rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 in the Handbell Room.

Orchestra
The Worship Orchestra meets on Wednesday nights at 6:30 pm upstairs in the Activities Room and is made up of high school and adult players. The Orchestra accompanies the congregational singing in the Sunday worship services. They also offer special music along with the Worship Choir.

Worship Songs
Sunday worship at Burnt Hickory begins as you enter the Worship Center. You'll hear music playing in a style that would resemble what you listen to as you drive to work or plug in an mp3 player. All of the components of worship are planned together so that each song, video, sketch or monologue guides us toward the pastor's message of the morning. The onstage worship leaders, whether they are singing, playing, acting or speaking, are there to encourage everyone participate with them as they make offerings of praise and worship to God, our audience of One. It is our goal to create an atmosphere that will acknowledge God as the center of our lives and invite each person to make Him the center of their lives as well.
